Membership Classes

 

Corporate Member

Local or overseas firms, whether private or public companies authorised by government, embarking on actual façade-related work including studies, design, production, installation, commissioning and testing, or producing associated equipment, materials and promotion.

 

The basic requirements and conditions for corporate membership:

 

Curtain wall/façade company:

  • Must be a Hong Kong-registered company with ISO-authorised quality and annual turnover of more than HK$30 million.

Window and door company:

  • Must be a Hong Kong-registered company with ISO-authorised quality and annual turnover of more than HK$10 million.

Consultant company:

  • Must be a Hong Kong-registered company with a good reputation in the industry and employing more than 10 staff.

Design company:

  • Must be a Hong Kong-registered company with a good reputation in the industry and employing more than 10 staff.

Construction company:

  • Must have ISO-authorised quality and annual turnover of more than HK$30 million.

Commissioning company:

  • Authorised by the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) or similar.

Installation subcontractor:

  • Must be a Hong Kong-registered company with more than HK$3 million in annual turnover, without bad records such as delaying employees’ salaries and breaking contracts.

Materials suppliers and equipment providers:

  • Must have with ISO-authorised quality and annual turnover above HK$3 million.

 

Individual Member

Any person above 18 years old who is embarking on or involved in façade study, design, production, installation, testing, equipment, materials and relevant work.

 

Fellow members

Senior executives in the façade industry or working in commercial, academic, government and public organisation areas, with more than 10 years of relevant working experience. Fellow members are experts in the industry or persons contributing to meeting the goals of the HKFA, and can be given fellow membership after approved by the council. Under special situations, the council can exempt any conditions in approving fellow membership, and the council has the right of discretionary powers and final decisions.

Full members

People who hold relevant science degrees or professional credentials, in addition to holding at least three years of relevant working experience in the façade industry; or those who hold relevant subjects, associate degrees or similar quality standards, in addition to holding at least six years of relevant working experience in the façade industry.

Overseas members

People overseas who hold relevant science degrees or professional qualifications, in addition to holding at least three years of relevant working experience in the façade industry. Overseas members can also qualify with a degree or similar qualification in relevant subjects along with at least six years of working experience in the façade industry. 

Honorary Committee

People or the representatives of the organisation who have contributed to the façade industry or provided outstanding services to the association are invited by the council to join the Honorary Committee. Membership of the committee is given to commend their contributions to the association and highlight their roles in the industry. Each term is two years.
