President’s Message

Since founded in 2005, the Hong Kong Façade Association (HKFA) has been striving to connect, align and join hands together with various organizations and individuals in Hong Kong to incorporate the concept of sustainability into building design and mitigate its environmental impacts in the aim of achieving carbon neutrality and improving quality of our life.

There are increasing demands on building a sustainable future with clean environment and green society. To reduce carbon footprint, we shall consider adopting renewable energy sources for our power supply. As an example, solar energy heats and cools the indoor space and provides electricity. Installation of Photovoltaic, either conventionally at rooftop or integrated into building facades is becoming increasingly affordable, and it is a great way to reduce the carbon footprint.

As a body of building façade professionals, the HKFA will continue promoting the façade construction industry to attract more talents and youth and educating young façade engineers for the sustainable development of both association and the façade industry.

We are also committed to maintain the high quality and high standard of building envelopes while striving to extend our knowledge, explore new façade technologies and tackle the challenge in response to ever increasing demands for green building design and free-form building envelopes.

It is inspiring to witness the rapid growth and development of HKFA under the cultivation of Council committee and presidents of previous sessions. I feel extremely honored being elected as the president of 9th Council Board of HKFA. This is my privilege and great responsibility, for which I will endeavor to fulfil. I am confident that the new Council will work together harmoniously and effectively and I will serve the association with my best effort to achieve its goals and to promote its agenda for the benefit of our façade construction industry.

Thank you again for your unwavering support for the HKFA!

Sincerely,

CHAN Sun-nung, Simon

President

The 9th Council Board (2023 – 2026)
